Be Part of Something Bigger: With Our Hands is an ongoing movement that celebrates the uniqueness of American makers and aims to reshape the handmade arts across the country by harnessing the power of social media.

That’s why we’re calling on all craftspeople, designers, and artists to share their creative journeys with us.

What We're Looking For: Show us your process—share videos and photos that capture the essence of your art, from the first spark of creation to the final masterpiece.

Video Guidelines:

  • Shoot vertically in 4K (or HD if 4K isn’t available).

  • Capture key stages of your making process.

  • Include a final reveal.

  • Videos combined should be no longer than 30 seconds. Max 5 videos.

Photo Guidelines:

  • Shoot vertically (aspect ratio of 9:16)

  • Capture key stages of your making process.

  • Include a final reveal.

  • Max 10 images.

All submissions must be submitted through the With Our Hands portal.

Selected submissions will be edited into TikTok-optimized videos by the R & Company social team and featured on our With Our Hands TikTok, where your work will inspire a nation. In addition, select videos will be shared on R & Company’s Instagram.

Why Now? Inspired by the seminal exhibition Objects: USA 1969, New York City’s R & Company presents Objects: USA 2024, a landmark design triennial exploring the excellence of American craft today. With Our Hands aims to connect with the vast abundance of great makers across the country, further expanding the community.

This is a unique opportunity for makers across the United States—from seasoned professionals to those just starting out—to be part of a national movement that celebrates creativity and craftsmanship. By participating, you can gain visibility and recognition, connect with a community of like-minded creators, and contribute to the cultural enrichment of America.
