ABOUT THE BOOK
In 1969, the groundbreaking exhibition Objects: USA opened to crowds at the Smithsonian Institution before traveling across the country and abroad. A half-century later, R & Company presents Objects: USA 2020, revisiting this legendary show and its accompanying publication, and extending its legacy by assembling fifty participants from the original exhibition and fifty contemporary artists who in their own ways are radically upending the traditional methods and materials of craft to create new forms of art. Objects: USA 2020 puts the past into conversation with the present and celebrates the diversity and ingenuity of American makers today.
